Share care with a co-parent or partner

Care is rarely one person’s job. You can share each person or pet on their own, with the people who help, at the level each one needs.

How do I share a child’s care with a co-parent or partner?

Invite them from the child’s page, and choose how much they can do: see the day, also record doses, or also change medications and schedules. Each person or pet is shared on their own, and you can change or remove access at any time.

  1. If you don’t see the sharing rows, in Settings open Household sharing (preview) and turn on Show sharing controls.
  2. On the child’s page, tap Details & sharing, then Add someone to keep an eye, Add someone who gives doses or Add a caretaker.
  3. Tap Send invite and send it to one person in Messages.
  4. Once they accept on their iPhone, they’re listed in People with access.

While household sharing is in preview, its controls, People with access among them, show only once you turn on Show sharing controls under Household sharing (preview) in Settings.

Three levels

The dog walker gets the dog, not the household.

What they need

The person you invite needs an iPhone with RxReminders. When they accept, the app opens on what you shared, with their level, who else has access, and a way to leave. Someone who can record doses is then offered reminders. Inviting needs the household subscription and iCloud sync, and the app explains if either is missing.

Change or remove access

Each person’s Details & sharing lists who has access, with when each last logged a dose. Change a level or remove access there at any time. People with access, in Settings, shows everyone you’ve shared in one list. For someone who won’t install the app, share a link instead: see Share a link.
