Set up reminders for yourself

Setting up for yourself takes a name and one medication. Everything else can come later.

How do I set up reminders for myself?

Choose yourself, connect Apple Health if you like, enter your name and add your first medication. Then the app asks to send notifications, so reminders can reach you even with the app closed. Setting up yourself is free, with no trial.

  1. Choose Me, then tap Continue.
  2. Tap Connect Health to fill in your birthday and weight from Health, or Skip.
  3. Enter your name, check the rest and tap Save.
  4. Add your first medication, or tap I'll add it when I have the bottle.
  5. Tap Allow reminders, then Done if the Focus step appears.
  6. Tap Just me for now, or add someone you look after.

Apple Health can fill in the details

If you connect Apple Health, it fills in your birthday and weight, and a line says so, so you can check them. Your medications in Health are offered when you add your first one. You can skip Health and type everything yourself; only your name is required.

Notifications come after the first medication

The app asks to send notifications only once you’ve reached that step, after your first medication. If you allow them, it explains how a Focus, such as Sleep or Do Not Disturb, can hold reminders back, and where to check.

If you say no

The app keeps working. Setup goes on without the Focus step, and Settings shows that notifications are off, so you can turn them on whenever you choose.

No medication to hand

If you don’t have the bottle with you, skip the medication. Today then offers to add one when you have it.

Free, with no trial
