Your first time in the app

The first time you open RxReminders, a short notice says what it is for and what it isn’t:

RxReminders helps you keep track of medicines and when they’re due. It doesn’t give medical or veterinary advice, and it doesn’t check how medicines interact.

The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy are linked under it. Agreeing is the only way on, so this step has no Skip.

What happens the first time I open the app?

A short notice says what the app does and doesn’t do, with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Then a short setup takes you through one person, step by step, and most steps can be skipped. There’s no account to create.

  1. Read the notice, then tap Agree and continue.
  2. On the next screen, tap Get started, or Answer a dose question first to work out a child’s dose before anything else.
  3. Choose Me or Someone I look after, then tap Continue.

A short setup, one step at a time

After the notice, a welcome screen says what the app does and that setup takes about two minutes. Then the app asks who you’re setting up first:

Most steps after that can be skipped. If you leave before your first person is saved, setup starts over at the welcome screen. Once they’re saved, it picks up at their medication.

A dose question first

If you need an answer before anything is set up, the welcome screen also offers the dose helper. When you close it, you’re back on the welcome screen. See The dose helper.

No account, no sign-up

There’s nothing to register. What you add stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. The app asks for a permission, such as notifications, only on the step that needs it.

A second iPhone

Install the app on another iPhone signed in to the same iCloud account. The welcome screen checks iCloud for your people for a few seconds, and if they sync in, setup ends and Today shows them.
