Set up reminders for someone else
RxReminders is built for looking after other people and pets as much as yourself. Each person or pet has their own page, medications and reminders.
How do I set up reminders for a child, a pet or another adult?
Say who they are and fill in the form: a child needs a date of birth and a weight, and a pet needs a species and a weight. Then add their first medication and allow reminders. The first person you add is free, whoever it is.
- Choose Someone I look after, then tap Continue.
- Choose Adult, Child or Pet, then fill in the details.
- Tap Save, then add their first medication and allow reminders.
- To add someone else too, choose Child, Pet or Adult (more than one person needs the household subscription), or Me to add yourself.
What each kind asks for
- An adult needs only a name.
- A child needs a date of birth and a weight, because children’s doses depend on them.
- A pet needs a species and a weight. You can add a breed and an estimated date of birth.
A photo and a color are optional, and help tell people apart on Today. If something required is missing, Save says what.
Pets and species safety
For dogs and cats, each medication you add is checked against a species table. For any other species, the form says species safety isn’t checked. See Pets and species safety.
Anyone else you look after
At the end of setup, the app asks whether you look after anyone else. You can add another child, pet or adult there, or yourself, or finish with just the one person. Later, Today offers the same choice when only one person is set up.
Free for the first person
Whoever you add first, the app never asks you to pay for them. A second person needs the household subscription: before the plans, a short screen says who your free person is and what stays free for everyone. If you don’t subscribe, you go back with nothing lost. See What’s free.
